About Declan Molloy
Originally from rural Lancashire, Declan Molloy is a composer who started out in local rock bands, before he trained as a classical pianist and went on to study music at Oxford and the Royal Academy of Music. He has worked with groups such as the Riot Ensemble, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, CHROMA, Hill Quartet, and many accomplished solo performers. Influences for Declan’s music include composers ranging from Claude Debussy to Frank Zappa, as well as many genres existing outside the concert hall – such as jazz, rock, film music, and bluegrass. His pieces tell stories that are stimulated by recent films, Romantic poetry, Futurist art, and his own lived experiences.
