Welcome to St Mary le Strand
St Mary le Strand is a Church of England Parish Church and a Sanctuary - a place of Welcome, Worship and Wellbeing - standing at the heart of the Strand-Aldwych District. Whoever you are and wherever you have come from you are most welcome. We are open for you to come and visit, to join us for prayer, or to enjoy a moment of calm in this busy part of Westminster.
Restoration & Development
We have ambitious plans for the restoration and development of the Church building so that it can be the heart of the newly pedestrianised East Strand.
With the help of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, St Mary le Strand is opening up after years of being cut-off by heavy traffic on all sides. Over the next few years we will be carrying out lots of work to make St Mary le Strand fit for purpose in its new setting.
Virtual Heritage Visit
You can now visit St Mary le Strand church virtually. Click on the pictures to explore a virtual model of the church interior or travel back through time with us to see it when it was consecrated in 1724.
Each tour comprises two 360-degree scenes that you can use your mouse (or equivalent, depending on your device) to look around.
