St Mary le Strand (The “Jewel” of the Strand) plays host to the second Strand International Piano Series.  Further to its launch to great acclaim in the 2022-23 season, the new series will feature all 32 of Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas. London’s most intimate concert venue boasts stunning architecture, beautiful acoustics and a brand new Steinway concert grand piano.

Julian Trevelyan is a British pianist and performs regularly throughout Europe and the UK.  In the current season he has given five performances of Bartók’s 1st piano concerto with Musikkollegium Winterthur, and two performances of Lutosławski’s  Variations on a Theme by Paganini for piano and orchestra with I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan.  Solo recitals have included performances of Beethoven’s Diabelli variations in Festivals in London, Cambridge, Munich, Paris, Switzerland and Vienna.
His recording of Mozart’s piano concertos 23 and 24 with ORF Radio Symphonieorchester Wien, directed by Christian Zacharias was released by Alpha Classics in October 2022.
From 2016 to 2022, Julian studied piano with Rena Shereshevskaya at the Ėcole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot.  In 2023, Julian returned to the Ėcole Normale to take part in the Elite program, to prepare for competitions and to develop various other musical projects.  He is composer and conductor with Ensemble Dynamique, and an experienced chamber musician on piano, violin and viola.
