Soprano Alexandra Dunaeva and pianist Alexander Doronin present a wonderful vocal and piano programme:

Aleksandra Dunaeva is a lyric soprano currently studying at the Royal College of Music on the Master of Vocal in the Performing Arts course with Nick Sears, where she is the recipient of the Leonard Marks Memorial Award supported by the Alice Templeton Scholarship. Alexandra studied in Italy at the Concervatorio Monopoli Nino Rota under Maria Piscitelli and graduated with distinction from the St. Petersburg State Conservatoire in Russia.

Alexandra made her debut in Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas on stage 3 at the Mariinsky Theatre with the Prantum Integrum orchestra in 2017. From 2018 to 2022 she performed as a soloist at the St Petersburg State Conservatory Opera and Ballet Theatre. In the same year she toured with the Vasilievsky Island Orchestra to European countries (Germany, Holland, France, Belgium). Alexandra won first prize at the Neapolitan Masters competition in Italy and a special award at the International Opera Bella Vocal Competition in Russia. Her operatic roles include Musetta from La Boheme, Adina from L’elisir d’amore, Despina from Così fan tutte, Belinda from Dido and Aeneas and others.

Alexander Doronin was born in 2002 in Yaroslavl, Russia. He started his undergraduate course at the Royal College of Music in September 2021 as an ABRSM Scholar. He is currently studying with Professor Dmitri Alexeev (piano) and Robert Woolley (second study – harpsichord). From 2015 to 2021, Alexander studied at the Gnessin Moscow Special School (College) of Music with Professor Mikhail Khokhlov (piano) and Olga Martynova (harpsichord).

Alexander has won numerous prizes at international competitions for young pianists, including:
 • First Prize Winner of the ‘Moscow Piano Open International Competition’ (Moscow, Russia; 2019)
 • Second Prize Winner of the Second International Vladimir Krainev Competition for Young Pianists (Moscow, Russia; 2019)
 • Second Prize Winner of the International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (China; 2018)
 • Second Prize Winner of the First International Rachmaninoff Competition for Young Pianists (Moscow, Russia; 2018)
 • First Prize Winner of the VI Alexey Nasedkin International Competition for Young Pianists (Yaroslavl, Russia; 2017)
 • First Prize Winner of the VI International Music Competition «Vocation to be a Musician» for Young Performers (Moscow, Russia, 2017)
 • First Prize Winner of the International Anton Rubinstein Competition 2017 – Piano Junior (Düsseldorf, Germany; 2017)
 • First Prize and Audience Award of the «Nutcracker», XIII International Television Contest for Young Musicians (Moscow, Russia; 2012)
 • Diploma holder of the XI International Russian Rotary Children Music Competition (Moscow, Russia; 2013)
 • Diploma holder of the «Astana Piano Passion», II International Contest for Young Pianists (Astana, Kazakhstan; 2014)
 • Diploma holder of the X International Frederick Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (Moscow, Russia; 2016)
Alexander also participated in various music festivals such as The XXX International Chopin Piano Festival in Gaming Abbey (Austria), the 4th and the 5th Festivals of the Russian Chamber Music «Winter Nights on the Amstel» (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Dmitri Alexeev’s ‘Beyond Boundaries’ Music Festival in London, Scriabinfest (Moscow, 2022), ‘Pianissimo’ festival in Repino, Saint-Petersburg (2021) and others.

He performed as a soloist with the Russian National Orchestra (Founder & Artistic Director – Mikhail Pletnev), Yaroslavl Philharmonic Orchestra, Voronezh Youth Symphony Orchestra and Omsk Symphony Orchestra. Alexander performed recitals and took part in various concerts in the UK, Austria, Poland, China, Vietnam, Netherlands, Switzerland and in various cities of Russia including the series “YAMAHA Stars” in Sochi (2019), the Loft Philharmonic project, “Summer evenings in Yelabuga”, Kazan (2021) and a piano recital at the Hermitage, Saint-Petersburg (2021).
