Tommy Tai started to play the piano at the age of 6 in his native Hong Kong. Aged 11 he achieved diploma level (ATCL distinction certificate) and moved to the UK at the age of 16 to study piano.
He has performed at Hong Kong City Hall since winning the Hong Kong Piano Music Festival (Diploma level) at the age of 15. He has been a regular solo performer at Lincoln Cathedral since coming to the UK.
He is a master’s degree graduate in Piano Performance with distinction at the Royal College of Music. He is a student of Professor Dina Parakhina and has received additional supervision from Prof. Leon McCawley and Andrew Zolinsky during his Bachelor studies at the RCM.
