Malaysian pianist Bridget Yee is the winner of numerous international piano competitions, including the Windsor International Piano Competition and the Beecham International Piano Competition, where she also earned the esteemed Best Overall Competitor Prize.
In 2020, Bridget won the Putra International Piano Competition with her performance of Ravel’s Concerto in G major. That same year, she was a finalist of the BBC Young Musician Keyboard Category, which was broadcast on BBC.
Bridget has performed in prestigious concert venues, including Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall in Japan, Viborg Musikforening in Denmark, Harris Concert Hall in the USA, Wigmore Hall in the UK, and Petronas Philharmonic Hall in Malaysia. Her concert tours have also brought her to Germany, Hong Kong, China, and Scotland.
In recognition of her contributions to the arts, Bridget was named ‘Successful Sarawakian from Overseas’ by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak at the 2023 Sarawak International Festival of Music and Arts.
Currently, Bridget is pursuing her undergraduate studies with Christopher Elton at the Royal Academy of Music, where she is the recipient of the Suresh and Richard McMillan Full Scholarship. At 17, she was awarded a Fellowship Diploma, the highest performance qualification by Trinity College London. Bridget is currently an artist of The Keyboard Trust and the Talent Unlimited Foundation. Through the years, she has been generously supported by the Hattori Foundation and has been recognized by Young Sounds UK with The Ann Burridge Award and The Richard Toeman Award.
Bridget is an Art Mentor Scholar of the Riot Ensemble and was appointed a Polonsky Foundation Fellow at this year’s Aspen Music Festival and School in the United States. Most recently, she was awarded the Kerr Memorial Prize by the Royal Over-Seas League. She has received mentorship from Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Barry Douglas, and Vovka Ashkenazy. Her future endeavours include recording a duo concerto at Deutschlandfunk Cologne in 2025.
