Dohnanyi – Sextet for piano strings and wind in C major, Op. 37

Blaze Ensemble is a London based chamber ensemble whose performances range from small works for wind and string ensemble to chamber orchestra. Founded in 1997, Blaze Ensemble gave its inaugural concert at St James’s Piccadilly with a performance of Dohnanyi’s Sextet Op.37 and Mozart’s ‘Kegelstatt’ Trio, K498. Blaze Ensemble regularly performs in established lunchtime concert series in central London and gives up to ten concerts a year.

Blaze Ensemble is enjoying a busy 2025-2026 season performing at venues including Blackheath Halls, Milton Court, The Old Hall at Lincoln’s Inn, All Saints, Fulham, St Peter & Paul’s Church, Edenbridge, St Peter’s Church, Berkhamsted as part of the Chiltern Arts Festival, St Olave’s, St Mary Le Strand and St Bride’s. Programmes this season include a premiere of Adrian Sutton’s Dectet ‘Montana Peaks’, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasia, Mozart Piano Concertos No. 12 and 23, Schubert’s Octet in F Major, D 803, Beethoven’s Septet in Eb Major, Op. 20, Beethoven Symphony No. 6 conducted by George Vassand Dohnanyi, Farrenc, Jacob and Thuille Sextets.
