Patricia Romero made her London debut in a critically acclaimed recital at the Wigmore Hall.

She studied at Trinity College of Music, winning many awards including the Maud Seton Prize for the outstanding pianist at the college. She continued her studies with the eminent pianist Louis Kentner. She came to international prominence as the winner of the Yamaha International Piano Competition in Mexico City. Patricia has pursued a busy international career, performing an extensive repertoire from Bach to the present day. In 1994 she performed the entire solo piano repertoire of Ravel in two recitals at the Purcell Room in London. She has toured Australia, Europe, Latin America and the Far East. She is a highly regarded teacher and a distinguished chamber musician. In 2007 she formed with flautist Odin Baldvinsson the duo Cantilena. They have performed in many of London’s most prestigious venues including the Royal Opera House and the Fairfield Halls, and in music clubs around the UK. They have released two recordings: the second, “Cantilena 2” was widely praised with one critic describing it as “one of the finest discs of flute and piano I have heard in recent years”. Since 2010 she has been the organiser of the piano section of the Coulsdon & Purley Festival. Future engagements include giving master classes in the Cambridge Chamber Academy Summer Course. She also has a long-established duo with the violinist David Hanesworth.

David Hanesworth studied at Trinity College of Music. He free-lanced widely, notably with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Bournemouth Sinfonietta, the London Mozart Players and the English Sinfonia. He also worked with Glyndebourne Touring Opera, the ENO and the English Music Theatre.

Since 1978 he has been a member of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden As a first violinist he has appeared frequently on stage, particularly in Wozzeck, Cinderella, Don Giovanni and Peter Grimes. He has also been guest leader of Surrey Opera.

David has long experience as a chamber musician; as a fonder member of the Maggini Piano Trio with Patricia Romero and Brian Meddemmen, flute trios with Odinn Baldvinsson, and a duo with Patricia Romero. This year he has been elected chairman of the Coulsdon & Purley Festival.
